Minnie Mouse in all her glory! Take it in! Isn’t she beautiful!? Another piece I’m really proud of… my favorite feature on this painting is probably either Minnie’s Bow or her hands. I love the stark contrast in styles between the abstract and the typical animation. Both styles pop off the canvas into the third dimension, a feature really neat and original to each of these pieces so far.
Just like the Donald piece, with the Minnie piece, I wanted to make sure I had some stark contrast in styles because I’m obsessed with the way those pieces have come out. This piece absolutely pops on the pink background as well! Wouldn’t expect any less from Minnie!
When it came to painting this piece, I wasn’t quite sure the direction in which I wanted to go, but I knew the relative palette of colors I wanted to work with. After a few layers of painting, I didn’t like the direction it was pushing… so I changed things up. This is why this piece is so heavy - you could feel the amount of layers on this painting when you see it on a wall, or hold it in your hands. Minnie’s a special one, I’d say…. One of a kind!
