We don’t need sleep to dream…
When we dream, sometimes we’re left with this little spark of inspiration, innovation, or imagination… a “figment” of your imagination if you will. Figment is a special character that I fell in love with on my very first trip to Disney as a child. This vibrant dragon, also known as the mascot of the Imagination pavilion of Epcot in Walt Disney World, was always presented in a manner that made you want to believe in the future and be inspired to do anything you can imagine! So you could say this entire series was at one point… just a figment of my imagination... but who is to say this figment is not real!
Take a look below to see some of the different stages this painting went through prior to finishing up. I wanted to include a picture of Marble watching me paint. I miss my little figgy so much! Speaking of figgy! The colors on figment are so bright and vibrant and I absolutely loved bringing them all together. Hope you enjoy it too!
Remember you can make anything you want happen if you believe in yourself and see it through … speaking of that, hopefully one day soon these works will be featured at Festival of the Arts at Epcot in Walt Disney World.
